My Story

Anyone who knows me will agree that I’m obsessed with anything to do with Nutrition, as well as the power of our mind and have amassed tons of books over the years on these subjects, so much so I then decided to study and gain officially recognised qualifications in both fields that I love namely Nutrition and  Hypnotherapy.

I passionately believe that there are so many options out there for all of us to reclaim our health and be empowered to live our lives really well instead of just okay.
I was diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) at aged 17 after spending a week in hospital undergoing test after test. I was put on a diet plan and basically told to eat more fibre but found I was still experiencing uncomfortable and sometimes painful symptoms and started to notice a connection between stressful times in my life as well as eating unhealthy foods.

Since then, I have been fascinated in all things to do with nutrition and spent quite a lot of time reading up on and finding out as much as I could about digestion and how certain foods can affect some people and not others.  I also found out that food cannot just affect our physical symptoms but also our mood too. Through reading books and trial and error I managed to control my IBS symptoms through a combination of healthier food choices and relaxation techniques like yoga and meditation.

Many years later I started to experience really bad joint pain in my elbows, wrists and knees and was prescribed strong medication to manage the pain which had some not so nice side effects and were affecting my digestion. I decided that I couldn’t spend my life trying to cope with side effects of pain medication which was only treating the symptoms and wanted to find out more about what was going on in my body and in my lifestyle that could be the root cause of my symptoms.

I decided to attend a Nutritional Therapist who reviewed my diet and lifestyle and through additional functional testing discovered which nutrients I was deficient in and put together a personalised protocol for me to follow which was a huge success and my joint pain disappeared as well as my digestive symptoms as I was able to stop the medication.

This was a huge eye opener for me so I decided to study Nutritional Therapy myself as I have seen how powerful food and the right nutrients can be in healing the body from pain, digestive issues, weight loss, thyroid function and many other chronic health conditions.

I strongly believe that people need support and nutritional coaching to make changes in their life and that our attitude can play a huge role in how we succeed.

So my aim is to provide nutrition support, knowledge and compassion in your quest for healthy eating and living, where you will be listened to in a caring and non-judgemental way and where your likes/dislikes are taken into account and where you will have my support as a nutrition coach to help you implement the changes you need to make.

I believe it is just as important to heal and nourish the body and mind through a combination of healthy eating and healthy thinking that allows for a holistic approach to nutrition, health & wellbeing.
